Chocolate Energy Bites are naturally sweetened that tastes just like a brownie but are gluten-free and protein packed. These chocolate energy bites keep you full for hours and satisfy your sweet tooth as they contain Chocolate, nuts and dates. These quick and easy No Bake Brownie energy balls can be whipped-up in minutes that are not only healthy but also very tasty. The perfect lunchbox treat or a snack!

As a Pre-workout and mid-day snack

We were looking for some energy-boosters for our pre-workouts and also as a mid-day snack for my hubby where he needs that quick energy at work.
When my friend suggested these energy balls I was a bit skeptical about the taste. But decided to give it a try , anyway. As a matter of fact, I am glad that I tried.

Why I made it chocolaty?

The biggest struggle for me is making it tasty enough so my hubby and little champ would eat it, it wont just work if I say, its healthy and good for us.
I am sure the one ingredient that makes both of them try is chocolaty… Chocolate.

When I first tried these energy balls, it’s a big hit at my home. As a matter of fact, they just keep asking for it frequently.

How to make energy bites?

In chopper, add Choco-chips, Almonds, vanilla extract, Dates and a dash of salt if using grind it everything till you reach a dough consistency and make either balls/squares to your liking.

How to store energy bites?

Store energy balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. If freezing energy balls, store in a freezer safe bag in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Alternatives

You can use Blanched almond flour rather than Almonds.
You can substitute almonds for walnuts/roasted hazelnuts
For Vegan: you can also use cocoa powder plus honey instead of Choco-chips.

Options

  • Feel free to add your own twist by adding some chopped dried fruits, nuts and seeds.
  • You can make as balls or as squares.

Chocolate Energy Bites Receipe

These Quick and easy No Bake Chocolate energy bites can be whip-up in minutes and are gluten-free, Raw, Protein packed, healthy, tasty snack full of Dates,almonds and chocolate!

  • Preperation Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • Blanched Almonds : 1 Cup
  • Pitted Dates: ¾ Cup
  • Salt dash optional
  • Vanilla extract: 1teaspoon
  • Chocolate chips: ¼ Cup

Instructions

  • In a Food processor, add Almonds and grind to a paste and keep it aside.
  • Now add dates and chocolate chips and process it to almost paste then add salt, vanilla and almond paste and process until everything forms as a dough.
  • To make squares: pour your dough into 8-inch by 8-inch cake pan lined with parchment paper.
  • Freeze them for 1 hour then slice them into squares.
  • To make rounds: Scoop a tbsp and make balls
