What special ingredient do I need?

marinara sauce chili turmeric salt and oil

You need only a jar of marinara sauce ready and handy always other than that its usual turmeric, chili powder, salt and oil with seasoning of mustard and split black gram.

How To Make Instant Tomato Chutney?

Heat oil in a pan and when its hot add seasoning of mustard and urad dal. After it splutters add curry leaves and add a cup of marina sauce and add chili powder, turmeric powder and salt. Bring to boil for a minute or till the raw flavor of spice goes. Check for salt and spice. Your Instant tomato chutney is ready.

This is the sauce I usually use for my chutneys, pizza and pasta. In fact, it has become an staple in my pantry always.

Instant Tomato Chutney

Quick chutneys for idli dosa or roti

Ingredients

  • 1 cup marinara sauce I used Rao’s Homemade
  • 1 tsp chili powder adjust according to your spice level
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp water

For seasoning

  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp Split black gram
  • 2 Dried Red chillies
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 strand Curry leaf

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan and when its hot add seasoning of mustard and urad dal. After it splutters add curry leaves and add a cup of marinara sauce and add chili powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.

  • Bring this mixture to boil for a minute or till the raw smell goes off. Check for salt and spice. Your Instant tomato chutney is ready.
