Chocolate cups are truly tantalizing treat to impress your loved ones. Its easy-breezy, made with just one ingredient, baking chocolate.

My elegant chocolate cups were an instant hit with the cookie and cream ice cream. Surprisingly, the cups go with any treats like nuts, nut clusters, fruits, granola, yogurt for healthy choice. These cups coupled with brownies and ice cream, fruits with ice cream, pudding, truffles for sweet treats. The choices are versatile.

I used heart-shaped silicone mold. Silicone mold makes it easy to remove these treats. Alternatively, heavy duty disposable paper cups will mold these chocolate shells.

Melt the baking chocolate in microwave and fill one mold fully with liquid chocolate. Then, pour the liquid from first mold in to next mold. Repeat the same to other silicone cups too. Line these cups on a tray and refrigerate for 20 minutes. Slowly remove the shells from mold and serve with ice cream.

  • Course: Dessert
  • Cusine: Global
  • Preperation Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 4 0z 1 baking chocolate (cut it in to small chunks) semi-sweet baking bar

Instructions

  • Place the silicone molds in a tray. Divide the bar in to four pieces. Microwave the three parts of cut chocolate in a microwaveable bowl on high for 30 seconds. Stir, microwave for 30 more seconds and stir again. If it is not fully melted heat for 10 more seconds.
  • Now, temper the chocolate by adding remaining part of chocolate and stir (Slowly heating and cooling melted chocolate while stirring puts it into temper). This gives a smooth, shiny and attractive finish.
  • Fill one silicone mold fully with melted chocolate. Then, slowly pour the chocolate in to another mold making sure first mold is fully covered with chocolate.
  • Repeat for remaining cups. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes. After it is set, slowly remove the silicone cup. If using heavy duty paper cup make a small cut in one edge before filling with chocolate to tear it up after the chocolate hardens.
